Areas of Interest
Matt’s love for sport and fitness led him to a career in personal training back in 2017. Having played competitive sports all his life from rowing, to baseball, to rugby and achieving his ultimate goals of playing junior hockey and reaching the NCAA as part of the Simon Fraser University Mens Basketball team, Matt learned the value that sport and fitness bring to one's life.

His training philosophy centers around the idea that sport and fitness should enhance one's life and push them to reach their greatest potential both physically and mentally. Using a scientifically based training philosophy, he designs and implements personalized programs that allow his clients to reach their unique goals.

About the Trainer
After playing college sports, Matt started to powerlift and worked his way up to winning 120kg Western championship in 2022. Over the past few years, he has built out a team of powerlifters who compete at levels ranging from local meets to national championships. While powerlifting is a specialty of his, having worked with a wide variety of clients ranging from college athletes, to powerlifters, to sports teams and lifestyle clients, Matt has a broad range of experience and interest when it comes to helping clients reach their goals.

When he’s not in the gym you’ll most likely find Matt enjoying the Vancouver restaurant scene, cuddling his dog, or traveling to somewhere he’s never been before.
